After Lissa went missing while swimming in Kanu Cove in Asia, she was presumed dead. Now a memorial service is reuniting her friends and family to say goodbye. Georgie and Bronwyn are old college friends who have made the trip to say goodbye. The novel is told from their points of view. After the service weird things happen to both of them. Strange notes are being left and one of them almost drowns. Then it’s discovered that their is fraud at the hotel that was owned by Lissa and her husband. Slowly secrets from the past are revealed, a body is found and lives are in danger. The reveal and climax are a let down. It’s pretty obvious throughout the novel who is responsible for all the bad things happening. I liked Lexie Elliott’s first two novels but this one isn’t as good.

You can pick up How To Kill Your Best Friend in stores on Tuesday, June 21st from Berkley.
