Petra is a literary agent who makes a mistake on social media, costing her and the company she works for clients. She is urged to take time off and travels to Portneath, outside of London, to run a bookshop in the small town. She first meets Ross McCloud, a writer who had a hit book five years ago, and hasn’t written anything since. The two hit it off, and Ross is now writing again, having come up with a brilliant idea for a book. Petra reads it and loves it, and he wants her to be his agent, but they are also in love and worried it could affect that. Petra decides to be his agent, the book goes for sale, when his former agent, and one-time fling, shows up, causing problems. She wants the book and Ross back, and it causes problems for Petra and Ross. This is another great small-town rom-com with two characters you root for. The supporting cast is a hoot, and this is a perfect end-of-summer beach read.
