Book number 31 of the Agatha Raisin investigation series finds Agatha upset about the upcoming wedding of her friend (and former lover) Sir Charles Faith to a woman named Mary, who is much younger than himself. She soon finds out that this woman and her family are just running ruffshot over his life. He ends up still marrying her and Agatha crashes the post wedding masked party. An arugement starts between the two women and Mary is later found dead in the stables.
Charles asks Agatha to look into the case and it means getting involved in the world of horses. She soon finds a fair share of people that could have had it out for Mary. And of course Agatha gets threats but she will not give up until she finds the truth.
Another fun Agatha Raisin novel. If you’ve never read any of these books you should. The characters and stories are well-written and you will love Agatha as much as I have come to.

Just read Hot to Trot and it was bittersweet to read M.C. Beaton’s last book. I will miss her and miss Agatha Raisin too – like losing two old friends.
