Book Review: ‘Hide Away’ Is A Great Start To A New Series By Jason Pinter

Author Jason Pinter has written a great new book that looks to be the start of a series featuring the awesome character of Rachel Marin. A woman that had a horrible thing happen to her family seven years ago and now is a mother that will do anything to protect her family. She has trained herself to be a lean mean fighting machine and is one of the strongest female characters to come along in years. She is Bad-Ass. And the story is a thrill ride right from the beginning to the very end, with twists and turns to keep the reader engaged.

Rachel Marin is at home making dinner for her family. Her little girl, her son and her hard-working husband she barely sees. It’s family dinner night and her son is a little late getting home from his friends house. Her husband is really late and soon her son gets home and tells her there’s a package at the front door. He looks in it and they both scream at what they see.

Now seven years later the family is living in a small town in Illinois, under different names. Rachel works for a lawyer’s office and it often late getting home to her family. One night she sees on the news that a woman has been found dead in the icy waters but no name is announced. Rachel knows it’s the former mayor and she knows she was murdered. She goes to the crime scene to investigate. She then makes an anonymous call to 911 and tells them it was murder. Soon the cops track her down and tell her to stay out of it. But Rachel doesn’t listen and continues to investigate and but heads with the police investigating the case.

It turns out there’s a lot more to Rachel and she keeps butting heads with the police and we learn more about her via flashbacks and what happened seven years ago. Just when she thinks she has solved the case, her life is in danger and she will have to use everything at her disposal to save herself.
