Author Jeffrey Archer’s follow-up to Nothing Ventured, Hidden In Plain Sight, is a solid thriller that continues the strong story from the first book and takes the reader on a ride and sets up the next novel really well on a number of fronts.
It’s 1986 and William Warwick has passed his tests and is now a Detective Sergeant and has been assigned to a special drug unit. This unit is to take down a drug kingpin named Viper, who has alluded the police and no one really knows who he is. And then there’s Faulkner from the first book who Warwick wants to get. After an arrest of a former friend and his turning into a CI, they get the goods on Faulkner and learn the identity of Viper.
A heated trial takes place and it’s lead by Warwick’s father and sister Grace for the prosecution. And if that’s not enough Warwick and Beth are married (with a shocking person shows up and tries to stop it) and she finds out she’s pregnant.
When the big drug raid goes down it leads to Warwick questioning his job, Faulkner making plans to get his paintings and break his ex-wife Christina and Beth going into labor.
You can pick up Hidden In Plain Sight in stores on Tuesday, November 3rd from St. Martin’s Press.
