Rav Trivedi, who’s British, is 29, black and gay, has an Ivy School education, dresses like a male model and is one of the youngest NYPD detectives ever. When Richard Vanderford, a music executive, is found murdered, Rav is given the lead on the case. The prime suspects seem to be the band the Knicks, who were in a dispute with the man. When Rav goes to interview the band members, there’s an instant attraction with lead singer Jack Vale. They become friendly and when Jack is cleared from the case, they take things to the next level and then new potential evidence comes in and it could hamper their relationship and Rav’s job. He decides that he’s going to investigate on his own, the case has been taken over by the FBI and is able to clear Jack once and for all. Their relationship hits new heights until the killer might end it once and for all. This book is great. The chemistry between Rav and Jack is off the charts, the music business takes center stage as well and the supporting characters rock. This is a sexy, fun gay rom-com, that’s perfect for the summer beach reading season. I only hope for more adventures with Rav and crew.
