In the year 1818, in England, Duke Henry Leighton-Lyons, has been mourning his wife for a few years now. He is having his portrait painted, which will show up in modern times at a museum in Chicago, where Rose Novak works. Rose practices witchcraft and, on this night, wishes for an old-fashioned man to show up for her. Out of nowhere Henry appears in her apartment and both are shocked by this. She has to figure out a way to send him back, and he has to become familiar with how this world works now. It often leads to funny situations, and soon the two have feelings for each other, and act on them. He may be from another time, but he knows what he’s doing in the bedroom. When they figure out how to send him back, it involves a daring theft and a trip to England. Henry soon figures out that Rose is his dead wife come back to life, and it causes issues with the two, until Rose starts to feel he may be right. Now they have to figure out where they go from here, and if they can be together. This is a great follow-up to her last book, Her Knight At The Museum (which you should read). The chemistry between the two is off the charts, along with a good group of supporting characters. This is a good rom-com to end the year with!
