Gracie Harris met her husband Ben in college and they got married soon after, have two children and are still in love years later. Then on a fateful Tuesday night, while she was at a business meeting and he was out with his friend Drew, he died of a heart attack at age 42. After the memorial service, Gracie writes an essay about her feelings which goes viral, gets her a job at the New York Times and a mega book deal. Now a year later it’s summertime and she and the kids are moving to the house in the mountains that they bought before Ben’s death. It is in need of a lot of work and her realtor’s brother Josh is going to do the work. The kids are going to camp and Gracie needs to finish her book. Josh is hunky, sweet, and a great contractor. They soon become fast friends and he helps her with her interviewing skills by asking questions every day. There’s also an attraction between the two and Gracie seems ready to move on and they soon act on it. Only Gracie hasn’t put her grief behind her and it may mess up what her new future could be. This is a story about grief, family, love, healing and moving on. Watching the hot chemistry between the two characters is engaging and you root for them. Throw in a small-town feel, with fun supporting characters and this novel is great. This is the debut novel from author Kate Hash and it’s one of the best debut novels I have ever read!
