As a teen, Iris saw her twin sister kidnapped, but no believes her. They just think she ran away, and Iris was lucky she wasn’t taken as well. She has never gotten over it, and as an adult now, she’s still looking for her sister. She starts by talking with people back then who were with her, and may have information. Furthermore, she slowly gets tidbits of info, and takes off with it. In order to find out the real truth, it means getting a job at a hospital for the criminally insane, on an island, working different shifts, and being stuck on the island for days at a time, and also leaving her kid for days. She thinks that the person who took her sister is a patient at the hospital, in the most dangerous part. But what she finds is so much more, not what she expects, and gets the shock of all shocks (as does the reader), with the twisty ending. This is author Tarryn Fisher at her finest. With so many twists and turns, this one is a page-turner.
