Book Review: ‘Go Hex Yourself: A Novel’ By Jessica Claire

Go Hex Yourself is by far the best rom-com so far this year (and I read a lot of them). It has everything you want and more. Witches, curses, a black cat, a 500 year old Warlock and a 2000 year old witch. And an erotic love story to follow along with. For 25 year-old Regina Johnson (everyone calls her Reggie) a new job is needed fast. Her parents have bilked her out of money and she has debts. She sees an ad for an assistant for Spellcraft, a card game she’s really good at. She finds out the position is actually to assist a 2000 year-old with named Dru and to be her new familiar and it pays a lot of money. Reggie doesn’t believe in magic but takes the job, which also means putting up with Dru’s obnoxious newphew Ben, a 500 year-old warlock. Reggie soon believes in magic after she’s turned into a cat on a spy mission. She starts to learn potions and curses and it’s then revealed somewhere in her history she has a magical ancestor. When Dru is cursed with a sleeping curse, Reggie and Ben team up to save her and they get really close and break down each other’s barriers and have hot sex. The cure to Dru’s curse might just be right in front of them. By the time you finish this novel you will have a smile on your face.
