Politics, power, money, death and lies lies lies highlight the debut novel Girl In The Rearview Mirror (Morrow out June 18) from author Kelsey Rae Dimberg.

Philip Martin is the son of the current Senator (who is up for reelection in Arizona). He is married to Marina and have a four year old daughter Amabel. He’s always been the black-sheep son in the family coming in second to his late brother. They are a well-respected couple in the community and Philip is even seen as a future candidate for his father’s Senate seat. They have a nanny for Amabel in Finn. Finn likes being around the rich house and the family and loves Amabel.

But behind the public family look there are secrets. Finn has hers. Philip and Marina have there’s. But secrets never stay buried. When Finn is approached by a strange woman claiming she needs to talk to Philip right away she’s drawn into things she has no right to be involved in. It takes her down a road where there is a tragedy, a mysterious death and secrets long thought buried (including her own). She decides to investigate things and it leads her down roads that some people don’t want opened and could cost her her life.

A great debut novel from an up and coming author. Twists and turns throughout the story made me want to keep reading and not put the book down. It’s quite the page-turner leading right up to the last page.

You can pick it up in stores on Tuesday, June 18 from Morrow.
