A great debut novel that hits all the right buttons with a great lead character. You won’t want to put this one down. Agneta Broman, 69 years old and a Grandmother, has just said goodbye to her kids and grandkids and gets a telephone call. Then she gets a gun and shoots her husband in the head and vanishes. Sara is a police detective, who was friends with Agneta’s kids growing up, takes a personal interest in the case. As she investigates she finds a link to an East German group, Stasi, with a plan that is a long time in the making. It could have damaging issues for the whole European Union. Sara must work fast to uncover this plot before it’s too late, leading to shocking revelations. This one is not to be missed.
