In the year 2048, Steve Redman was married, his wife expecting their second child, a girl, to go along with their two-year old son. He had a job at Banner-Wyst, was paid a lot of money, and found out the company was crooked. He planned on going to the FBI as wistleblower, but somehow they knew about it, and blew up the apartment building where he lived, killing his family. Now, thirteen years later, people who work for the company are being killed, and Eve Dallas is on the case. Not getting much help from the company, Eve and Peabody research as much as they can, find out about what happened years ago, and are on the hunt for Steven. It becomes a game of cat and mouse, with Eve one step behind, until she finally comes face to face with the man. This is the 63rd novel in the series, and it’s another good one. It starts off fast and never lets up in the action. Longtime fans will enjoy this one and will be happy to know that Mavis has her baby!
