Graham Sanderson has moved home after the death of his father in upstate New York. He took an early retirement from his police detective job in D.C., and is still grieving the loss of his wife three years ago. He is now living in his father’s home with his younger brother, Tommy, who suffers from emotional issues, including not being able to leave his house. When two murders take place, Graham is asked by Chief William Finn to help out in solving them, as an advisor. He jumps at the chance, and soon there are more murders, and a number of potential suspects, including Tommy, who Graham knows couldn’t do it. He is determined to find the killer(s) and clear his brother’s name. This is a great police detective novel, at its core about family, with the love between the brothers being a central story. The formatting of the book is also great, with short chapters, right to the point of the story, making it easy to read. This is one of the best books of the spring and is not to be missed.
