Book Review: ‘Finding Forever: A 1970’s Love Story’ Is A Touching Story Of Two People Who Fall In Love

Author Anthoy Sciarratta has written an awesome love story set in 1970’s New York. Michael Conigilo is having a rough time. He has been fired from his job, his girlfriend cheated on him and announced it to everyone in a coffee shop. His Italian parents are something else. His mom supports him but his dad has never been behind his choices and never lets him forget he doesn’t approve of the things he has done. Then Michael gets into a fight with his ex-s girlfriend and gets his but kicked. Lucky for him Elvira Vaughn is there to help him heal. She brings him to her place and patches his up. They soon find they have a lot in common.

They start dating and Elvira is a breath of fresh air he has never had before in a woman. She’s not Italian but he thinks she could be. They date and fall in love. They just enjoy the hell out each other. They can’t believe they have found each other. They think it’s divine intervention as they get signs from different places they thing from Jesus himself.

But things don’t always go according to plan and soon a major fight takes place and it blows them apart. Michael goes a tear and drinks and loses all hope. That’s until he gets signs from God that he takes as his chance to try and make things right with Elvira and hopefully it’s not too late for them.

This is a great novel that the reader gets invested in and roots for these two people to find love and make it work. It takes you on an emotional journey of highs and lows and you may just need some kleenex as you read it. You’ve been warned!

You can pick it up on Tuesday, November 5th.
