Book Review: ‘Everything We Didn’t Say: A Novel’ By Nicole Baart

The past can never stay buried and for Juniper Baker returning to the small town of Jericho, Iowa it’s about to come out. It was 14 years ago when her neighbors were murdered and her brother Jonathan was the prime suspect. He was never convicted but his life was never the same. Sure he married and had kids and still lives here, things are being stirred up again. A reported podcast is in the works and someone has been causing trouble for Jonathan. Juniper is back to support her friend who is dying of cancer and to see the child she left behind with her parents 13 years ago. And now Everett, a cop on the force is looking at the case all over again. And then Jonathan is rushed to the hospital after falling in the ice and his dog is dead. Juniper decides to do her own investigation and starts to uncover things from back then and then makes a startling admission and figures out what exactly happened all those years ago. A solid thriller from author Nicole Baart that has twists and turns and a great back-story that helps with the present day things going on. You will want to keep reading it once you start.

You can pick up Everything We Didn’t Say from Atria in stores on Tuesday, November 2nd.
