Rowan Winterbourne lives in a lighthouse on the coast of California, she lives a very private life. Years ago, her mother was killed, and her stepfather taken by gangster Gregory Torval. He would have been killed but had info on Torval, and a promise was made to never harm anyone in the Winterbourne family. Rowan had rescued him from the private island that Gregory owned. Now years later Rowan gets a knock on her door from a man named Joe, who knows who she is and about her past, and needs her help to go back to that island, for a birthday party, to find an address book, and blackmails her, and gives her awesome sex. They arrive as a couple, and are greeted warmly by Torval, but not his wife, who holds her responsible for the death of her son. Joe and Rowan play the part of a loving couple, deal with issues that come up, find the book, and have to figure out a way off the island, without getting killed, and along the way learn a shocking secret that could change everything. A solid thriller that starts off fast and never lets up. Filled with sexy interplay between Joe and Rowan, hot sex, and a twist you don’t see coming. The actions scenes are first-rate, and it’s a book you will want to keep reading.
