The third book in the Harrier Foster series, set in Chicago, has her working two fronts, trying to find the killer of her partner and on the case of a billionaire’s son, who was found dead in a field by Hardwick House, at Belverton College. The victim is Brice Collier, found shirtless and dead, and looks like he drank too much at a party. It’s soon ruled a murder, and has similar features to a death thirty years ago at the same place, and more deaths take place seeming to tie the two. As they investigate this, Harriet is also looking for the killer of her partner (not an official investigation), who seems to have a grudge against her family and is playing games with her. It all leads to showdowns, in both cases, and Harriet must be careful she doesn’t end up dead. This is a good series, with a strong female lead character. This is another intense novel and I look forward to more novels in the series.
