Jamie Newcross is a man at the end of his rope. His wife and little girl left him years ago, and he is just surviving each day. He sees monsters, he doesn’t own any electrical things, and listens to baseball games on the radio. When he gets a call out of the blue about a car, a self-driving car called Lion 100, he jumps at the chance to buy it. Something is wrong with the car; it doesn’t talk to him, and when he falls asleep, he wakes up to blood on the windshield. The car has a mind of its own, won’t release him at first, notices someone is following them, and it leads to a shocking showdown, and just what is going on between Jamie and his car? This is an intense, unique, well-written novel that you will not want to put down. At 207 pages, it’s a quick, easy read.
