Shake Bouchon used to work for the Armenian mob, and for the last year has been living a quiet life in Bloomington, Indiana, with his wife Gina. He always knew that his past might catch up with him one day, and today is the day, Dikran, an enforcer for the mob, which is led by Lezy, who Shake has a checkered past with. Thinking he’s about to die, he tries to run away, and it turns out Dikran is here for his help, Lexy has gone missing in Cambodia, having been kidnapped by some locals, who have no idea who she is, for money. Together they travel there, and start to track her down, while having to deal with locals, and someone who doesn’t want her found. Shake is determined to find her no matter what, and Gina shows up there, hell-bent on saving Shake. This is the third novel in the series, and another good one. Author Lou Berney can tell a great story, inject humor where it is needed, and use a location to great advantage. Fans will enjoy this one.
