Maggie Dunn, the Mayor of Heartstone, New York, is married to Alex, a surgeon and they have twin children and what seems like a perfect life. Except it is now. Maggie has found out she has a deadly blood disease, the same one that killed her mother at a young age and has about three months to live. She has decided to find Alex a new wife before she dies. We live through flashbacks to her life before and after her mother dies and the con artist woman that tried to take her father for a ride. Maggie has re-connected with an old boyfriend, her old drug dealer, who is clean now and an old childhood friend and we soon learn not everything is as it should be. Maggie learns shocking details about her illness, someone goes missing and shocking truths are revealed right up to the very end. This is a great, soapy, twisty novel, with so many twists and turns, you need a scorecard. Author Marshall Karp has done it again!
