Dolly Brick is a single mother who returns to her hometown of Whitfield, R.I. (which she does every summer), to help her father at their business, The Brick Fish House. A fire breaks out at the family home, and she agrees to stay longer to help with the repairs and to look after her brother and sister. Stewart Whitfield is the heir to the family money, for whom the town is named. He has broken up with his fiancée, and has a lot to deal with this summer. When he gets a flat tire, Dolly helps him change it, and a photo of them appears in the tabloids. He asks her to be his fake girlfriend, and he will pay her a good salary for it. They get close, open up about their lives, and fall for each other. Now, they have to figure out where they will go with this relationship. Author Monaghan has done it again. She has written one of the best rom-coms of the summer. She has never written a bad novel, and this one is a great beach read.
