Graham Cutler, a corporate attorney, and his wife Eliza, who does voice work, have been married for five years, and the spark has gone out of their marriage. On their fifth wedding anniversary, they’re given a resort vacation, and are on the way there, neither looking forward to it. Upon check-in, they’re given two rooms, and Eliza decides to take advantage of this, for some me time. When they’re introduced by another guest, they pretend they don’t know each other, and decide to ‘date’ again, as if they never met, and invent new personalities, to see if they can get their spark back. It works as part of the game, but will it work in real life? A clever, well-written twist on the normal rom-com. You root for these two to get their groove back. A real winner of a novel.
You can pick up Do I Know You? in stores on Tuesday, January 24th from Berkley.
