The year is 1966, and Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip are in the West Indies on a royal visit, aboard the Royal Yarht Britannia, which was built during her late father’s final days, and he never got to sail on it. Things are going well until her new diary secretary, Pamela Sinclair, is found dead in her cabin, which looks like a pill overdose. The Queen quickly puts her assistant private secretary, Joan, who has helped solve cases in previous books, on the case, reporting to the Queen directly. She finds out small details here and there, but when she gets too close to the truth, she is attacked and ends up in sickbay. The Queen herself continues investigating and comes up with what really happened to Pamela and attached Joan. This is the sixth novel in the series, and it’s another good on. The friendship and trust between the women is great, and I would like to think that maybe this is how Queen Elizabeth really. There are some funny moments in the book, and the story is a quick, easy read. This is one of my favorite series every year.
