Book Review: ‘Death On The Page: A Castle Bookshop Mystery’ By Essie Lang

Author Essie Lang is back with the second book in her Castle Bookshop Mystery series. This time an author is murdered in the castle and as much as Shelby tries to stay out of the investigation she cannot.

Author Savannah Page is in town for two book signings at the Bookstores owned by Shelby and her Aunt. Things go really well with the signings except when another author accuses her of stealing a story. It’s quickly dismissed. Savannah is staying in the castle to get more insight into the book she is writing. The next morning her body is found down the stairs to a secret passageway.

The evidence points to her being pushed. Shelby asks a few questions but is repeatedly warned to stay out of it. She can’t help herself and keeps learning stuff. And of course someone doesn’t like this and ends up confronting her and once again it may be to late for her.

And there’s also story advancement in her relationship with Zack and of course JT the cat is featured quite a bit!

Another fun mystery novel featuring Shelby and the bookstore and the castle. With more story advancement and character development, it is an easy read. Here’s to more adventures with the cast of characters in the small town setting.

You can pick up Death On The Page in stores on Tuesday, March 10th from Crooked Lane.
