Lochdubh, Scotland, is the setting for this latest novel in the series. The Tommy Castle Hotel is the setting for the wedding of Alannah Hamilton and Darius Palmerston. Sergeant Hamish Macbeth and Davy are called after a local seer predicts someone will die. While there, Hamish sees his ex, Priscilla, and soon another ex, Elspeth, who has second sight, and also predicts a death. The wedding takes place, and after the cutting of the cake, the groom, Darius, is murdered with his own sword. He had been causing issues in town, and we soon learn he has a checkered past, as does the bride. With any number of potential suspects, Hamish has his work cut out for him, especially after another dead body shows up. This is another fun novel in the series. The setting, the characters and especially Hamish, make this one of my favorite series. Fans will love this one.
