Author Lori Rader-Day has written another great story, this time a historical look at the time of Agatha Christie and when her house was used to send kids to during the beginnings of WWII. She owned a house Greenway House (and she really did and this is based on a true story) and ten children and two nurses among others were sent to the house. Bridget Kelly is a nurse in training but did something wrong at the hospital she was working at. She was given the choice to go on this trip as nurse to help supervise the kids. Along with another nurse named Bridget Kelly, who they call Gigi and Bridget was called Bridey. Right off the bat things don’t seem right with Gigi and soon Bridey will learn her secrets. Greenway is a big, beautiful house and since Agatha is away in London helping with the war efforts they don’t get to meet her, at least at first. And then a body washes up on shore and it was a brutal killing and with the bombings going on, it makes for a tense time. And the girls are determined to solve this mystery Agatha Christie style.
Lori did her research and has come up with a story the captures the time frame of WWII and written the story as close to real as she could. She even talked to one of few remaining children and her son to get valuable information for the book, as well as trips to Greenway.
You can pick up Death At Greenway in stores on Tuesday, October 12th from William Morrow Paperbacks.
