Book Review: ‘Deadly Cross: An Alex Cross Novel’ By James Patterson

James Patterson writes or co-writes so many books a year it’s hard to keep up with them. What I do know is he writes Great books whenever I read them. My favorite is the Michael Bennett series. And now for the first time I have read an Alex Cross novel and it was Great. I knew who the character was but had never read one before. Now I am hooked and will read them going forward.

Kay Willingham, the ex-wife of the current Vice President and Christopher Randall, the head of a school are found murdered in her car. And now Alex Cross has been called in to help investigate. And it turns out he has a personal connection to the woman. He and his partner FBI special agent Ned Mahoney look into every aspect of her life and it takes them to her home town in Alabama. What they find is betrayals, corruption and secrets and how she was deceived by those close to her. And John Sampson of the D.C. police investigates Randall and together they are able to piece together what happpened to these two as well as a string of other crimes that have been going on in the D.C. area.

On top of all of this someone close to the family dies and Bree, the wife of Cross, has a decision to make about her future with the police department.
