Evie Pope, who is 29, had a rough childhood, and is guarded as an adult. She works at a marketing firm, Media Lab, and is in line for a big promotion. Her work rival, Rafael, is also up for the promotion. They were once friends, until she believed he betrayed her. After a dinner meeting with a client they share, Evie is hit by a car and is in a coma. She wakes up on Rafael’s couch as a spirit, and only he can see her. He thinks he’s going crazy, and they soon figure out maybe he is the only one who can help her. They banter, they argue, and they get close. He has always had feelings for her, and now he must show her that there’s more to life than just work and helps her to overcome her fears and that she could be happy and loved. He has a week before she’s moved to a new facility, and she may be out of reach. This is a fun, paranormal romantic novel. The two of them have chemistry and it’s a refreshing take on the typical rom-com. Readers will enjoy this one.
