The war in Ukraine is raging on, and a rogue group, who call themselves the Wolves, have decided the only way for this to end is to kill Putin. They have a plan ready to go. Putin is on to this, and he has always had a plan that if anything happens to him, Dead Man’s Hand, will be released, a nuclear attack on the west. Putin also doesn’t want Finland and Sweden in NATO, with Sweden having issues with Turkey voting for them. He sends a hit squad to Sweden to take a Turkish nationalist, and hopefully stop Sweden. They also know about the Wolves, and are after them. Pike Logan is ordered to go to Sweden to try and stop the killing of the man, and it turns into so much more. They’re told to stand down on any killings, but are forced to take part when they get involved in situations that require them to. The action then takes them to Finland, where the Russian group and the Wolves are fighting it out, and soon it is revealed about the Dead Man’s Hand, and Pike Logan has to undergo a dangerous mission, to avert nuclear disaster. This is the 18th novel in the series, and shows no sign of letting up. The action is fast and furious, as only Brad Taylor can write them. We also get a surprise visitor along for the mission, and the closing actions scenes are first-rate. Fans of the series will be happy with this one.
