Book Review: ‘Dark Corners: A Novel’ By Megan Goldin

Rachel Krall is back for another thrilling mystery, last seen in The Night Swim. She has a very popular crime podcast, and helped get an innocent man released from prison. The FBI calls her out of the blue, and wants her to fly to meet with a prisoner named Terrence Bailey, who is about to be released after six years in jail. He is in for breaking and entering, and is the suspect in a string of murders, but the cops could never them on him. When influencer Maddison Logan goes missing after meeting with Bailey, Rachel tries to get information out of him, with no luck, just a warning. Rachel is supposed to return home, but sticks around after more people vanish, and bodies are found. When Rachel starts piecing things together, she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer, who will stop at nothing to not be found out. A solid new thriller for author Goldin, with a very likeable character in Rachel Krall, and a story you follow along with, with a twist you don’t see coming. Fans of hers will be happy with this one.
