Effie is a demon who works in hell and has gotten on the bad side of Lucifer for events in the previous book, The Devil She Knows. She is at a boring desk job, and is always getting into it with her boss. She has also gotten engaged to Belphegor, a Prince of Hell. The problem is she finds out she is still married to the man she married over 486 years ago. In order to get married she must get him to renounce his vows. The man, Finn, is still alive, having been reincarnated every time he dies. He has no idea who she is, and when she explains, he is floored but won’t give her what she wants. He makes a deal with her to give him a few weeks to get to know him, and hoping he will remember. They soon fall for each other, have hot sex, and he remembers everything, but something else is at play here, and they will both learn a shocking truth from Lucifer, that could end them forever. This is a great follow-up to the previous novel: it’s hot, sexy, and heartwarming, and makes for a good fall rom-com.
