Set in the world of Hollywood, Delaney Webber is the assistant to writer Lee Cooke. Along with his late brother, Robbie, they created the blockbuster world of Magician’s Gambit, and four films were made. Years later the studio wants a fifth film, but Lee does not want to write another one. He tells Delaney, an aspiring screenwriter herself, to write it. Max Sullivan is the assistant to a powerful agent and grew up with the movies; they helped him get through the death of his father. Delaney seeks out Max to help her write the script, as she has no idea about this series of movies. Max, who lacks self-confidence, struggles at first working with Delaney, but soon things take a romantic turn. Both want to further their careers and this could be what does it if they can control their lust as well. This is a fun, sexy rom-com that shows how tough Hollywood can be to work it and make a career out of it. This is author Millage’s debut novel, and it should not be missed.
