Alex Cross gets a call from one of his son’s Professors that he is missing. He hasn’t been to classes in days, and he’s not answering his phone. He and Bree head to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he’s going to school. John Sampson was going to go along to help, but he’s called to a bombing in the middle of D.C. Each has their own case to solve. Cross follows all leads, including his son’s girlfriend, and a radical speaker who is coming to town. When he finally finds Damon, it may be too late for them. John has teamed up with federal officials looking into the bombing, when another one takes place. They get a break when they’re able to identify who they think has been doing the bombings. When he finally catches up with the suspect, it’s not as cut and dry as he thinks, someone dies, and it’s a race to catch the bomber, and it reveals a shocking betrayal of the United States. This is the 35th book in the series, and authors Patterson and Sitts have done it again. This is another great story featuring the two characters, and you will not want to put it down. This may be the best novel yet in the series.
