Sydney Parks is a big fan of the reality TV show Authentic Moms of Malibu and when one of the stars, Margot Kitsch, is arrested for murdering her husband, she is picked to be on the jury and is excited about this. When she arrives for the case she sees Damon Bradburn, her former best friend and neighbor. It’s been ten years since they walked in on her father and his mother banging and everything changed between them. They’re seated next to each other and there is an attraction between the two but strict rules on how the jury can act with each other. After talking it out and saying he was sorry for how things went down they put the past behind them. As the case ends and they reach their shocking verdict, Sydney thinks their time together was just a fling (they had a secret one night together) and Damon makes a grand gesture in hopes of changing her mind. The chemistry between the two radiates on the pages as you read along. The trial is a blast to follow along with. This is a fun rom-com, perfect for the beach season.
