The year is 1953, and in six months the coronation of Queen Elizabeth will take place. Edie Howard is the owner of the Blue Lion Hotel, which is right near where the Queen will be going by. The hotel has been in her family for 400 years, and is not doing well. She’s hoping the big event will help her get back in the black. For Stella Donati, who has been hired as a photographer for Picture Weekly magazine, this is a big event to photograph the day. James Geddes, is a gifted artist, and has been given a job to paint the Queen on her day. All three of them are living at the Blue Lion, when strange things start to happen. Letters being sent to the newspaper, bookings cancelled, and a bomb threat, and Edie’s life in danger. All three will need to work together to save the hotel, and stop the bomb from going off. Along the way, they may even find love. A great historical fiction novel, with well-written characters, with the backdrop of the coronation working great here. Fans of this genre will eat this one up.

You can pick up Coronation Year in stores on Tuesday, April 4th from William Morrow paperbacks.
