The Spice Isle Bakery, in Brooklyn, is excited about the annual Caribbean American Heritage Festival, as this year they will be part of it for the first time. Lyndsay Murray is the co-owner and is looking forward to the event. All her family will be there, including cousin Manny, who is an audio engineer, and is being linked to the lead singer, Camille Abbey, the singer for DragonFlyZ, a hot upcoming reggae band. Things take a bad turn when she found dead, falling from a flight of stairs, it looks to be an accident, or is it murder. The police don’t investigate, and Manny asks Lyndsay to investigate, she has before when things have gone bad. She finds evidence, and soon figures out who the killer is, but will it be too late for her. This is the third book in the series, my first time reading one. It’s a fun murder mystery, with interesting characters, and a good look at the Caribbean culture. A good end of the year holiday read, while waiting for all the new releases coming in January.
