Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala, from NUMA, are on a training ship in the Bahamas when they get a distress call from the ship Heron, and rush to its aid. They find crew members still aboard out of their minds. Rescuing them, they cannot find anything physically wrong with them. When Kurt finds a piece of wreckage, he gets it analyzed and knows there’s something more going on, and they find that the boat had been towing a Chinese ship. They soon learn a Cuban named Martin Colon, has a deadly plan in motion, he has a dust powder, that makes people take orders when under it, and he plans on unleashing it, and stealing an American nuclear sub. But Kurt and Joe have other ideas, and it leads to a thrilling, climatic air showdown. This is another great novel in the series, filled with underwater adventures, shootouts, an epic air battle, and the bromance of Kurt and Joe. Fans of the series will be happy with this one.
