Innocence UK works to free people that may have been wrongly convicted of a crime. Their next case involves Carrie who was convicted of killing her husband Pete’s girlfriend Ella. The evidence used to convict her was mostly circumstantial except Carrie’s blood was found in the house. Carrie has proclaimed her innocence all along.

Now three years later Innocence UK is looking into the case. Tess is assigned the case. She is great at her job and immediately begins looking into the case. This time she is not alone. She has been assigned Avril, a new woman that his been hired to help out with cases. Tess is not happy about this but takes Avril under her wings. They start looking at all the evidence and find things that could help Carrie’s case. They meet with Carrie and believe she could be innocent.

When they get a tip about a potential witness that knew Ella and could have evidence they set up a meeting. When Tess sees who it is she bolts. Her past has caught up with her in a big way. She needs to talk to this witness and to do this could open up the past to who she is.

The day has finally arrived for the court of appeals to hear Carrie’s case and the outcome and aftermath set in motion a shocking reveal and before all is said and done someone will be dead.

Author Paula Day has written a thrilling story that I couldn’t put down. I was hooked right from the beginning and with all the twists and turns, it built up to a stunning climax you don’t see coming.

You can pick up Clear My Name in stores on Tuesday, September 10th from Grove.
