Lets get this out of the way first…this is titled an Eve Duncan novel, but she only has a cameo in it. This is all Jane and Seth, who has gotten into trouble yet again, in his latest M16 assisgnment. Jane is in Scotland under the watchful eye of McDuff and a whole lot of guards. She is out sketching and makes a sketch of a little girl, and McDuff once again thinks Jane is related to him. She’s also researching Fiona, an ancestor of McDuff’s and learns there may another treasure. Meanwhile Caleb is on the run after killing a dictator in Africa, but failed to get his number 1 guy Bohdan, who is now after Caleb. It becomes a game of cat and mouse, with Bohdan learning about Jane and he sends men there. Caleb shows up as well and soon there are battle, with McDuff’s castle taking on damage and some M16 men being killed. Then Jane reveals some shocking news and the stakes are raised. It all leads to a dramatic showdown on an old rail car and everyone’s lives are in danger. This is another great novel in the series and shows off what a badass Jane can be when tested. Her and Seth’s relationship takes a big step forward and there are many ways their story can go in the future. Fans of the series will like this one.

You can pick up Captive in stores on Tuesday, September 6th from Grand Central.
