The Darby Family owns the island of Cape Rage for hundreds of years, and have committed many crimes over that time, and have always gotten away with it. After a bank robbery in San Francisco, the FBI knows it was them, and have decided to go after them, and there’s only one man who can do that, Danny Barrett, who is a master of this kind of undercover work. He gets on the island, and manages to get hired by the family, and starts looking for evidence. Meanwhile, Henry Carter, who is married to the Darby’s only female member, is left for dead after the robbery. He is saved by a young girl living in the wilderness, and he plots his revenge on the family, no one knows he is still alive, not even Danny, which could complicate things. This is an excellent action thriller, with a great setting, that enhances the story. This is the second Danny Barrett novel, and this character is great. Can’t wait for more of these books.
