Carrie Singleton is getting married in two weeks, and all she wants to do is get everything ready for the big day. The last thing she wants to do is to write an article on Verity Babcock, a woman who was hanged as a witch centuries ago. Here diary was found in box of donations not too long ago. Then she and her fiance, Dylan, find a dead body on the lawn of Victor Zalinka’s estate, the place where they’re getting married. Turns out the man was a bank robber, who was just released from prison, and it’s thought maybe he was looking for the money. Carrie can’t help but look into the murder, then another body is found, and Carrie hopes she will be alive in order to get married. This is the eighth book in the series and another good one. These small-time murder mysteries are the best to read, and include some fun supporting characters including Smokey The Cat and the ghost Evelyn Harris.
