Book Review: ‘Booked For Death: A Booklover’s B&B Mystery’ By Victoria Gilbert

In Beaufort, N.C. a bed and breakfast takes center stage in author Victoria Gilbert’s new booklover’s series, which hosts book events. Charlotte Reed inherited the inn from her great aunt Isabella. It’s a celebration of author Josephine Tey and a big party is planned. A rare book seller named Lincoln Delamont, who is married with a teenage daughter, who happens to be with Charlotte’s friend, makes an accusation about some of the rare books that Charlotte has in her library. He claims her grandmother did some shady things to get them.

The night of the party Lincoln is found stabbed to death. His daughter knows about the accusations and tells the police and she thinks Charlotte is responsible. Charlotte decides to investigate and make sure her name is cleared. In the process others are implicated and secrets are revealed. Just who is the murdered?

A strong start to this new series. Interesting characters, a great setting and a fun story make this an enjoyable read.

You can pick up Booked For Death in stores on Tuesday, August 11th from Crooked Lane.
