The second book in the Hope Harbor series finds Jake Montgomery, nicknamed Monty, an author living in New York, struggling to write his next novel. He’s forced to move back home and live with his father after his roommate’s girlfriend moves in. Penny Darling owns the Bonfire & Bliss Bookstore, and she and Jake used to be best friends, but their friendship has cooled a bit over the years. In an effort to help Jake get into his writing again, they decide to fake date, so she can teach him about romance. We know how this works, soon they are having hot sex, and living out fantasies. They fall for each other, but Jake gets cold feet; he never believed in love, and now he has to make a grand gesture to try and win Penny back. This is a good follow-up to Darling Daffodils Farm, with a lot of the same characters. an adoring baby cow named Daisy and love, romance, and hot sex. It’s a joy to watch these two fall for each other. Beward a cold shower may be needed after reading this book.
