After the events of the last book, CID Agents Scott Brodie and Maggie Taylor have been separated and not allowed to talk to each other. When CID agent Harry Vance is found murdered in Berlin, where nobody knows why he was there, he was not on any assignment, Scott and Maggie are called to go there and look around. The Germans, and an American committee is looking into it, and they are told it is not their investigation, which doesn’t stop them. They learn more in the first few days they’re there than anyone else. It also gets them in trouble. No one is happy with them, but that doesn’t stop them from looking deeper into what happened, and what is still happening, or about to happen. They risk their lives turning over every stone, and it could get them into big trouble once again. This is a great follow-up to the first novel. An intense thriller, that keeps you reading along, what we call a real page-turner.
