Book Review: ‘Blood In The Water’ Is A Thrilling Novel From Start To Finish

The criminal element in Boston is getting out of control and it’s up to FBI agent Kit Steel known as The Hunter and Harbor Chief Cormack O’Connell to try and shut it down. Kit arrested Vincent Carpio and he is in a maximum security prison awaiting trial. She is worried he will escape somehow (he did once before). His brother Javier is now in charge in Boston and has a deadly plan to try and spring him.

Cormack is in charge of the waterfront and nothing happens without him knowing. He may be a little bit crooked but is well-respected. Javier is planning a big operation and is trying to take out Cormack. A deadly ambush takes place and it is assumed Cormack is dead (someone close to him is working against him). He survives and now it’s all out war. Cormack won’t stand for this and goes on the offensive.

Cormack’s 19 year old daughter Diamond is pregnant and not sure what to do. She’s involved with one of Cormack’s guys and he has hired security to watch out for her. As the days dwindle down to Vincent’s arraignment in court, things start to go haywire. Diamond is kidnapped, Kit is sure a plan is taking place to free Vincent. It turns into a game of cat and mouse between Cormack, Kit and Javier and whoever blinks first may be the loser in all of this. It all leads to a dramatic showdown and people’s lives will never be the same again.

This book was awesome. It starts off strong and never lets up. All action leading up to the stunning climax. A book you won’t want to put down.

You can pick up Blood In The Water in stores on Tuesday, September 24th from Minotaur.
