Jordan is 19 and a bartender, and lives with her boyfriend Cole, who is a slacker, and would rather party and drink than work. When they get kicked out of their apartment, they move to Cole’s dad Pike’s place, rent-free, in exchange for doing chores, and cooking. Cole and his dad have an estranged relationship. An attraction starts between Jordan and Pike, who is only 37, he had Cole at a young age. They both fight it, until Jordan catches Cole cheating on her in the pool, breaks up with him, and Cole moves out, leaving Jordan with Pike. They still try to fight the attraction, but finally give in, and have hot, mind-blowing sex (with very graphic, erotic scenes). As the days go by there’s more sex, and feelings, but Pike feels guilty about how Cole will feel. After fights, more sex, and then a big misunderstanding, Jordan moves out, and it’s up to Pike to try and fix things, if that’s what he truly wants. A great character driven romantic, sexual, steamy (you may need a few cold showers), that is a great read, and a book I have been waiting for all year. You follow along, and root for the two to be together.

You can pick up Birthday Girl in stores on now from Berkley, with an added bonus chapter.
