The setting for the novel is Maple Hollow, Maine, a small town in the northern part of the state. Ruby works as a bartender and lives with her twin sister, Lena, who lately has been having these weird visions. When the hunky Rafe walks into the bar, her life is about to change forever. He lives in a cabin in the woods and lives a quiet life. When she sees two wolves fighting, she is shocked to learn that Rafe is one of them. He is a werewolf and has been watching and protecting Ruby ever since he met her. He left his pack a year ago, and now there are rival wolves in town, and they want Lena, because she is a seer. Ruby and Rafe spend time together, and fall in love, and it turns out she is his mate. They finally give in to passion and have hot sex. When Rafe takes care of the rival pack, everything seems to have finally worked out for the two, until a twist ending sets up the next novel in the series. This is a great novel and start to the series. The chemistry between the two leads is off the charts, and the book is filled with fun, quirky characters, and the sex scenes are hot. This one is not to be missed.
