Seattle attorney Keera Duggan used to work for the DA’s office, until a scandal with her boss, and now she works as a defense attorney, along with her father and sisters. Jenna Bernstein, an old-school nemesis of Keera, has once again been charged with murder, she was charged once before, and got off because of the job Keera’s dad did defending her. Now Keera has been tasked with defending Jenna, not something she wants to do, as she knows her well, and doesn’t trust her, but takes the case. Jenna must dig into her basket of tricks in order to get her off, even if she doesn’t believe that Jenna is innocent. I love author Robert Dugoni’s novels, and this is another good one. The story leading up to the trial and then the actual trial are intense and it’s a story you don’t want to put down.
