Olive Porter is from Sunrise Cove, in northern California, where her parents and Gram live, along with her best friend Katie, and her family. Olive ran away years ago to London, to work in PR and start her own company. When Katie’s husband Joe, and her brother Noah, are in an accident at their job, in the National Park Servies, Olive rushes home to be with Katie. Noah is fine and Joe is in a coma. Olive is shocked when she sees Noah at the house, she has a history with him, and he was one of reasons she left. They decide to try and be friends, but the chemistry is too hot between them, and have sex a few times. They’re both trying to come to terms with their feelings and put the past behind them, to hopefully move forward together. This is the 7th novel in this series and it’s another good one. Nobody writes these kind of stories like author Shalvis. She has a unique way of writing character-driven novels, with fun supporting characters and a cute dog and cat.
